Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2023 Water Safety Challenge!
Water Safety Challenges was hosted at various cities on Saturday May 20, 2023.
Cities/Locations include: Orange, Mission Viejo, Evolution Swim Academy, and Blue Buoy.
Many people joined our community leaders in Orange County by supporting drowning prevention and water safety education. Exciting events like the Water Safety Challenge are a wonderful way to create awareness and support learning.
Children, parents, and family members participated in a series of water safety education stations, and the challenges were hosted by local volunteers who will engaged in safety activities and demonstrations. In addition, participants joined community partner groups to learn CPR and other safety tips to keep their families safer around water.
The Water Safety Challenge was a fun, interactive, and comprehensive water safety day designed to teach children and parents important water safety skills: how to do a safe water rescue, how to properly use life vests, and how to swim to the side. Participating also helped parents identify their child’s particular strengths and weaknesses in the pool.
